Maps and Trail Section Information

Linking people with nature by footpath along Lake Superior's North Shore.

Trail Overview

The maps below only give a general idea of the trail route and are not meant to be used for hiking. The Superior Hiking Trail Association (SHTA) sells a complete set of six pocket maps for the trail for $5.00. SHTA also sells The Guide to the Superior Hiking Trail, 7th Edition (published April 2013) for $15.95. The Guide has complete directions to all the trailheads, maps, information about each campsite and its water source, and a mile-by-mile description of the trail. Please go to the SHTA Store to purchase these items.

If you are interested in the 42-mile Duluth section of the trail, please go here to view and download hiking maps and to view or print out directions to the trailheads and a mile-by-mile description of this portion of the SHT.
